Editorial
Dear shareholders, welcome aboard !
SAPMER’s history is a true odyssey that began in 1947, setting sail from Reunion Island with the bold vision of three pioneers adventurous enough to set venture into the southern seas. Their mission : to bring back high-quality seafood and contribute to the island’s food sovereignty.
More than 75 years after the launch of its first fishing campaign aboard the three-masted “Le Cancalais”, SAPMER has grown into a major player in both Reunionese and French fishing industries. Today, our fleet consists of 11 vessels, all flying the French flag and operating across three fisheries: Patagonian toothfish in Kerguelen & Crozet, rock lobster in Saint-Paul & Amsterdam, and tropical tuna in the warm waters of the northern Indian Ocean.
This success is the result of the unwavering determination of entrepreneurs and passionate individuals both at sea and on land who, over the decades, have upheld SAPMER’s pioneering spirit, deep expertise, and accumulated know-how, enabling the company to flourish.
In 2009, SAPMER became a publicly listed company following its introduction to the Euronext Growth market.
In 2024, a new chapter in SAPMER’s history and development began with a capital increase and the expansion of the board of directors, now strengthened by leading figures from Réunion’s entrepreneurial landscape.
Our deep local roots, adventurous spirit, commitment to innovation, continuous refinement of our expertise, and, above all, our dedication to ensuring the sustainability of our fisheries—these are the values that have transformed our once-small Réunionese fishing company into one of the leaders of the French fishing industry.
Our mission is to continue proudly flying the flag of excellence in Réunionese and French fishing, to carry forward our odyssey with the pioneering spirit that drives us and to enhance the value of your investment.
